Know More

“What is Double-crème Brie?” you ask. Simply put, it is the creamier, richer version of the good old-fashioned Brie cheese. With a higher butterfat content, our Gulmarg double-crème Brie offers an indulgent, lush mouthfeel, complemented by earthy, mushroomy cultured butter notes with a beautiful lactic finish. Also, this beautiful heart shape of our Brie is inspired by the French “Neufchâtel” cheese.

Aged between 1-2 weeks, as Gulmarg slowly becomes enveloped in a velvety, fluffy, snowy rind, its paste begins to soften at the edges, resulting in a mild mushroomy profile with tangy notes.

As it matures for 2-3 weeks, it develops a 50-50 profile, featuring a chalky center and a gooey periphery. (This is the age at which we sell our Gulmarg.)

By the time it reaches 4-5 weeks of aging, Gulmarg’s paste becomes runny and gooey, releasing an intense aroma with robust earthy and mushroomy notes.

ELEF Gulmarg pairs beautifully with hot honey, candied pistachios, and fig or berry preserves. It can also be baked to perfection or savoured in your favourite sourdough sandwiches.

Furthermore, it makes a fantastic addition to cheese platters and pairs wonderfully with a chilled glass of sparkling wine!
